Teamsters at IMEX Ratify First Contract

On Saturday, July 16, 2022, Teamster members at IMEX, in three Florida locations, voted to ratify a three-year agreement which is their first since organizing their Union just over a year ago. IMEX workers handle the loading and unloading of cargo from trains at the Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Jacksonville railyards. Many of those cargo containers are transported to and from the railyard by Teamsters who work for employers like UPS, Crowley, YRC, ABF, and others. On Saturday, Jul 10, 2021workers at XPO in Miami made history by voting unanimously to approve their first-ever Teamster contract and the first contract at XPO Logistics in the nation. It was a long road to get to this point as their journey began well over 6 years ago, way back when their company was still named Con-way Freight. Sysco Warehouse Workers & Drivers Ratify First Contracts

In a near unanimous vote, our Teamsters Local 769 brothers and sisters at Sysco in Miami have ratified their first contracts. Despite the challenging climate posed by coronavirus closures, the one-year agreements include important protections for workers: just cause language, layoff and recall rights for furloughed workers, as well as seniority and wage protections for the warehouse workers and drivers. Indian River Hospital Ratifies NEW 2 Year Contract

On Wednesday October 23, 2019, Teamsters at the Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital ratified a new 2 year contract voting 98% to approve. Teamsters Local 769 is the bargaining unit representative for nurses at the hospital and they made numerous gains in this upcoming contract term. In addition to gains in wages, workers beat back a proposal to reduce the hospitals contribution to the Union Health Insurance Plan by one-half and will maintain at the current premium contribution rate. City of Fort Lauderdale Contract Ratified

Congratulations to all City of Fort Lauderdale employees who ratified a new 3 year contract on Thursday, October 10, 2019. Voting took place at four locations throughout the city and many city workers turned out to show strong support for the new agreement voting 481 'yes' to 43 'no'. Highlights include a pension plan for employees that did not previously have one and as much as 13% increase in pay over 3 years. Agreement Increases Wages, Protects Benefits, Creates New Full-Time Jobs The five-year contract covering about 250,000 Teamster-represented workers at UPS has taken effect beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, April 29, after workers in Michigan ratified the last outstanding supplemental agreement. UPS Freight Teamsters Ratify Company’s Final Contract Offer

Workers at UPS Freight represented by the Teamsters Union have ratified a new five-year agreement that was the company’s last, best and final offer, averting a national strike. Members approved the contract by a 77 percent to 23 percent margin at local union meetings held from Nov. 7 until today. The agreement covers approximately 11,600 workers at the company. The final vote was 6,935 in favor and 2,067 opposed with 84 percent of eligible members voting.
