Sysco Miami Election Notice

Congratulations to the workers at the Miami Sysco location, who have won the companies challenge and secured their election date. The company lost their argument to include the warehouse workers and other classifications in the bargaining unit in an effort to water down support. The election will be conducted on February 13th, 2019.

Drivers at South Dade Facility Vote Overwhelmingly in Favor of the Union (Miami) Drivers at Coca-Cola Beverages Florida's (CCFB) South Dade facility voted today by a three-to-one margin to join Teamsters Local 769. FreshPoint Drivers Say Yes to Teamster Representation

The voting began Thursday night at 11pm and on Friday morning August 26th, when the votes were counted, Teamsters Local 769 had 101 new brothers and sisters. FreshPoint is North America’s largest exclusively owned produce distributor and a division of Sysco Corporation. Drivers at Sysco SEF Vote for Teamster Representation

In a major victory, Sysco workers in West Palm Beach voted to join Teamsters Local 769 in Miami. With 84 drivers in the bargaining unit, the vote for Teamster representation was 66 to 15, an 81.5-percent margin of victory. “Today, the drivers at Sysco in West Palm Beach stood strong and united and took a bold step by forming their union with the Teamsters,” said Mike Scott, Local 769 President. “The company waged its typical anti-union campaign, but the workers persevered and remained focused. First Transit Para-transit Drivers WIN!

Workers at First Transit in Broward County voted by an overwhelming 82.5% for Teamster representation on Friday April 8th, 2016. The bargaining unit, which consist of nearly 120 para-transit drivers, is contracted by Broward County to provide services to primarily elderly and special needs citizens who need transportation to medical appointments, shopping and other essential locations.
