Coca-Cola Beverages Florida Workers Join Teamsters Local 769

Drivers at South Dade Facility Vote Overwhelmingly in Favor of the Union (Miami) Drivers at Coca-Cola Beverages Florida's (CCFB) South Dade facility voted today by a three-to-one margin to join Teamsters Local 769. Of the 48 eligible voters, 47 participated in representation election. "This is another win for freedom and democracy," said Jorge Castillo, a CCBF driver who emigrated to the U.S. from Cuba. UPS, UPS Freight Strike-Authorization Vote Timeline

UPS and UPS Freight Teamsters will vote soon to consider giving their respective negotiating committees the right to call a strike, if necessary. The vote will be conducted by secret ballot as UPS and UPS Freight contract votes have been done in the past, but this time UPS and UPS Freight Teamsters will be using the telephone and Internet through the BallotPoint Election Services voting system. Call To Action – STOP HB 25

Tomorrow, Tuesday, December 5th, state representatives on the Government Accountability Committee will vote on HB 25, the union busting bill that would eliminate Florida public unions in a workplace if an arbitrary number of workers, set by the politicians, do not voluntarily pay dues.
