Drivers at South Dade Facility Vote Overwhelmingly in Favor of the Union (Miami) Drivers at Coca-Cola Beverages Florida's (CCFB) South Dade facility voted today by a three-to-one margin to join Teamsters Local 769. Of the 48 eligible voters, 47 participated in representation election. "This is another win for freedom and democracy," said Jorge Castillo, a CCBF driver who emigrated to the U.S. from Cuba. Local 769 UPS’ers Demand a Good Contract NOW!

On Monday June 18, 2018, UPS Teamster members gathered at four of the large facilities represented by Teamsters Local 769 in South Florida to demand a good contract. Many members started arriving before their shift began and others stuck around after theirs ended. They joined together chanting to management inside the building that they "want a good contract and (they) want it now!" This week the Teamsters National UPS Negotiating Committee convened for the ninth week of negotiations, and the union leaders discussed a variety of topics that are important to members. The committee met throughout the week, winding up Thursday afternoon. Teamsters Receive UPS’ Initial Economic Proposals

The Teamsters National UPS Negotiating Committee received UPS’ initial economic proposal this week, and the union will be responding during the next round of negotiations. The company’s action comes after the union committee made its initial economic proposal during the last negotiations in late April. This week, the eighth week of negotiations, the company’s economic proposal covered Article 22—Part-time Employees; Article 34—Health, Welfare & Pension; and Article 41—Full-time Employees.
