Maruti Teamsters Ratify First Contract

A year ago, when workers at Maruti Fleet and Management voted unanimously to become members of Teamsters Local 769. Among the many things they were seeking was job security, seniority rights and a voice on the job. UAL Teamsters Escalate Picketing and Warn of Possible Strikes

On February 26, 2016, hundreds of United Airlines mechanics picketed at the San Francisco, Los Angeles (LAX), Newark, LaGuardia, Washington Dulles, Cleveland, Boston Logan and Orlando airports, to educate passengers about the possibility of upcoming strikes. Last week, mechanics voted down United’s contract proposal by 93 percent. Mechanics also voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike. Orlando UAL Mechanics Protest Contract Offer

February 19, 2016, hundreds of United Airlines mechanics protested the airline’s contract offer by picketing outside key maintenance bases at the San Francisco, Houston and Orlando airports. The above video is of members of Teamsters Local 769 at Orlando International Airport. The mechanics held picket signs that read, “Millions for UAL Execs—Peanuts for Passengers and Mechanics.” Line mechanics and technicians at other United facilities across the United States also participated by wearing “Tell UAL: NO” stickers at their workplaces. Cummins Teamsters Ratify NEW 3 Year Contract

On Tuesday November 17, 2015 Teamsters Local 769 members at Cummins in Miami unanimously ratified a new 3 year agreement. The bargaining unit, which consists of diesel mechanics, the parts department and warehouse workers, have long been members of Teamsters Local 769. The diesel mechanics service engines for Miami-Dade Transit and public school buses and their marine division provides yacht service throughout the Caribbean. Miami Transfer Ratifies NEW 3 Year Contract

On Monday November 16, 2015, Teamsters Local 769 members from Miami Transfer ratified a new 3 year contract. Miami Transfer has been in business since 1896 and along with Florida Rigging they do a lot of work for Florida Power and Light. They also do a lot of rigging work for Pike and other utility pole companies throughout the Miami, Broward, and Palm Beach county areas. Drivers at Keolis Ratify First Contract

This past November, 76 bus drivers at Keolis Transit America Inc. in Fort Lauderdale, Florida voted unanimously to become members of Teamsters Local 769. On Friday September 18, 2015 our new Teamsters brothers and sisters ratified their first contract.
