Local 769 Responds to Hurricane Michael

Following Hurricane Michael, Teamsters Answer the Call for Action Following the devastation of Hurricane Michael, Teamsters formed a disaster relief labor coalition with the Florida AFL-CIO to provide assistance to residents of the Florida Panhandle. IBT Disaster Relief has taking the leading role in setting up the logistics for relief supply distribution in the region. The labor coalition set up distribution points at local schools and other locations, and trucks began driving into the affected communities today to locate residents and get them essential items that they need to get through the aftermath of the storm. Relief for Hurricane Michael

The International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT), Joint Council 75 & American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) of Florida are in the process of organizing collections and distribution of hurricane relief supplies for all affiliated and non-affiliated alliances within the regions that have been impacted by Hurricane Michael. The donations will provide much needed supplies in order to begin the restoration of the communities that were deeply impacted by hurricane Michael. Brothers and Sisters, The IBT International Negotiating Team met on 8/20 thru 8/22 to finish putting together the framework of what will be your first Teamster Contract. We were able to complete the framework and have scheduled meetings with the rank and file negotiating committee members 10/23 and 10/24 to begin crafting the language we will use in face to face bargaining with the company. 2018 Teamsters Local 769 Scholarship

Teamster parents work hard to provide for their children and funding for a good education is a top priority for all who have children nearing the end of high school. The Teamsters Local 769 Scholarship fund is something that all children of Teamsters Local 769 members are eligible for and the following application form can be printed at home or requested from your stewards or business agents. All 2018 graduating seniors are eligible to apply. All Teamsters Local 769 members are welcome and encouraged to help support the event that helps fund our scholarships by attending our Annual Golf Tournament on October 20, 2018.
