Allegiant Air First Collective Bargaining Agreement Now Headed to Vote

The Teamsters have reached an agreement in principle for 415 mechanics and related classifications at Allegiant Air. After the agreement in principle is finalized between the union and the company, it will be put out for a ratification vote by Teamsters at Allegiant which is expected to occur sometime by the end of July of this year. The Teamsters had already represented pilots and dispatchers at the Allegiant and were certified as the group’s exclusive representative on March 7, 2018.
These negotiations were particularly challenging due to the pandemic, having begun in January of 2019, the process was temporarily suspended early in 2020 due to covid-19. After a brief hiatus, progress towards achieving their first collective bargaining agreement resumed.
“We’re happy that we have been able to come to an agreement that is amenable to all parties involved,” said Capt. David Bourne, Director of the Teamsters Airline Division. “It wasn’t always easy to negotiate a contract in the middle of a pandemic, but those involved on both sides of the table worked hard to make it happen and that hard work paid off.”
Teamster Local 769 will have more details on the tentative agreement and the vote as they become available.
