Again this holiday season, Teamsters Local 769 will be collecting toys for children in need. We will be distributing those collected through programs in Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties as well as through a program which will send them to children still struggling in the aftermath of the earthquakes in Haiti. The food bank collection for the Salvation Army needs your donations!.  Collection boxes for canned goods and non-perishable items have been set out in various areas and will be out until final pick-up on 12/31/2013.  So let's start early and continue throughout the holiday season. Markham Park Car Show

On November 2nd, 2013, Teamsters Local 769 hosted the Annual Car Show at Markham Park. There was a fantastic turnout this year and spectators were treated to a huge variety of unique and classic cars. The car show has been part of our Annual South Picnic for a number of years now and the weather really cooperated with all of the collectors this year, allowing all of them to display their precious metal without the threat of thunderstorms. Teamsters Local 769 Salutes Our Veterans

A short time ago, at our most recent General Membership Meeting, Business Agent David Renshaw introduced the membership of Local 769 to the Dear Soldier Campaign. Through this letter writing campaign, wounded veterans at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and the Fort Belvior Community Hospital in Virginia receive thank you letters from students of Teamster members as well as from their friends and neighbors. I.R.C.S.O. Lieutenants Ratify First Contract!

The Lieutenants at the Indian River County Sheriff's Office ratified their first ever collective bargaining agreement which guarantees a 3% wage increase for the first year of the contract. The Lieutenants at the Sheriff's Office only recently voted to join the Teamsters and according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, overall crime in the county dropped 4.3% in 2012 from the year before so the pay increase is well deserved. Local 769 Stewards Attend “Go-Team” Training

On October 21st and 22nd, members of Local 769 attended the NTSB Accident "Go-Team" training the IBT/Airline Division hosted last week at Local 19 in Houston for Aircraft Technicians. Our Local had 4  Stewards attend, Chief Steward Brian Wooley, & Stewards Gary Kagel, Scott Lyons & Winnie Tolentino. As part of the TAMC ongoing commitment to Aviation Safety, the two day training also included the Blood-borne Pathogen training required to be on site as a party to an investigation. The training was provided by John Goglia, former NTSB Investigator and Enjoli DeGrasse from IBT Health and Safety.
