Teamsters Business Agent Supports Our Troops

On Friday, April 28 and Saturday, April 29, 2017, iPods for Wounded Veterans along with Teamsters Local 769 Business Agent David Renshaw had the pleasure of visiting with our Veterans at the Walter Reed Military Medical Center, the Fort Belvoir Hospital and the Richmond V.A. iPods for Wounded Veterans secures sponsorship to collect iPods, iPads, eReaders, Nooks, Bose headphones and other materials for our wounded veterans. Captain David Bourne to Walk for “iPods for Wounded Veterans” For a few years now, Teamsters Local 769 has been encouraging our members to support iPods for Wounded Veterans. Since 2014 our very own David Renshaw was named southern rep for the southeast United States for iPods for Wounded Veterans. The organization was founded by a Vietnam Veteran and a retired Teamster, and is currently working to provide iPods, iPads, eReaders and other materials to improve the quality of life for our wounded Veterans. Teamster of the Year

In October of 2014, David Renshaw from Teamsters Local No. 769, Miami, FL, received the Teamsters of the year award for 2014. David received this award for his service under his role as a Human Rights Commission (H.R.C.) for the local Union, he was nominated by iPods for wounded veterans. Winning the 2014 Teamsters of the year award for his services and contributions to the wounded men and women of the United States military is such an honor. Teamsters Local 769 Human Rights Commission On Tuesday, February  11, 2014, Wayne Fox, co-chair from  iPods for Wounded Veterans organization, was a guest speaker at the I.B.T. Brewery and Soft Drink Workers Conference 2014 Annual Meeting in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Wayne Fox thanked Teamsters Local 769 for the continued support for our veterans and to the iPods for Wounded Veterans program. Local 769 Helps Say “Thank You” to Our Soldiers

At a recent conference, Teamsters Local 769 Business Agent David Renshaw was introduced to a wonderful way of giving back to our brave soldiers.  Those who have and those who continue to serve the United States of America in all branches of the armed forces.  The organization is called iPods for wounded veterans and it was formed in August of 2010 by Paul Cardello, a US Air Force Veteran who also retired after 35 years as a Teamster from TLU 170 of Worcester, Massachusetts.
