Donald Jack Marr 1947-2020 Labor lost a true champion this past Friday. Don Marr, 72 of Cooper City Florida, died Friday, January 24, 2020, with loved ones at his side. Many South Florida workers had the pleasure of knowing Don, as a Secretary-Treasurer for Teamsters Local 390 as well as a business agent for Teamsters Local 390 & 769. Don primarily represented members in the car rental industry in recent years and he took great pride in being a true Teamster. The following statement from Teamsters Local 769 is in regard to the tragic shooting of a UPS driver in Miami today. "It is with a heavy heart that I write this statement this evening. We are heartbroken by the tragic events from earlier today regarding one of our Teamsters Local 769 members (UPS Driver), who was carjacked while doing his job. He was ultimately victimized in a shootout after a lengthy police pursuit with the carjackers. Teamsters came from all over South Florida on a hot but beautiful sunny day, to enjoy the great food and fun that our picnic has become famous for.
