Workers at AKIMA Ratify NEW 3 Year Contract

On Friday, February 5th, 2021, members at AKIMA Global Services overwhelmingly voted to approve a new three year contract. Teamsters at AKIMA work in the Krome Detention Center in Miami-Dade and the bargaining unit includes numerous classifications, from personnel in the kitchen, to office staff and warehouse workers to name a few. Workers voted for a contract that contained wage increases, the ability to roll over vacation time and increased contributions to healthcare coverage.

“I would like to thank all of the members at AGS who work hard at the Krome and took the time to meet multiple times during the negotiating process. I would especially like to thank Steward, and member of the negotiating committee, Karieva Warburton for all of her help. Without her insight and knowledge of the needs of the members, negotiations would not have progressed so smoothly.”

Dan Vera – Teamsters Local 769 Business Agent/Organizer

Congratulations to these strong Teamsters and thank you for the hard work you do providing essential services to the United States Federal Government.
