Penske Workers in Broward Ratify New Contract

On Wednesday January 20, 2021, Teamsters at Penske in Pompano Beach, Florida ratified a new 2 year contract after a hard fought negotiating process. Members at the Pompano shop stood united for a strong contract with numerous improvements such as higher wages and language pertaining to paid holidays.

“I am proud of the members at Penske in Broward, who stood up and stood together to get the best possible offer from the company”, said Josh Zivalich, Teamsters Local 769’s President and Principal Officer. “Their strength and solidarity resulted in the company’s need to modify their proposal to include stronger language for job security and an enhanced economic offer”, Josh continued. “These members should be commended for their efforts, as well as their Business Representative David Schillinger and negotiating committee member/steward Ken Cassell.”

David Schillinger agreed, “These members were united in their goals and achieved them. They deserve credit for their hard work during this pandemic and this contract rewards those efforts.”, David said. “Thanks to Ken and the members at Penske, who’s actions as a unified group helped them ensure they are rewarded for their hard work now and into the future.”

Congratulations to all of these strong Teamster workers, for setting an example that proves there is strength in solidarity. Great Job!!
