TEAMSTERS LOCAL  769  shows solidarity and supported the International Federation of Transport Workers The ITF LATAM Airlines Network of Unions would especially like to thank the ITF Americas office and Teamsters Local 769 of Miami for their support in Miami this weekend.  Teamsters are members of the ITF, the International Federation of Transport Workers, representing 4.5 million transport workers around the world. IBT Conducts TLA at Our Miami Hall

From March 11-14, 2014, Teamsters Local 769 hosted a Teamsters Leadership Academy (TLA) where we welcomed business agents and officers from locals across the nation for advanced training and education. The focus of the course was on the legal aspects of collective bargaining in private and public sectors. The four day program placed special emphasis on contemporary and difficult bargaining questions including healthcare and pension. On Saturday March 8th, 2014, Teamsters Local 769 hosted a Steward Seminar to offer more in depth training to the men and women who are on the front lines of the War on Workers. The seminar was held at our Miami hall and the goal was to help provide additional tools to assist them in their battles for labor. An offshoot of the national Helmets to Hardhats program, the Teamsters Military Assistance Program (TMAP), provides disability assistance for all military veterans and job placement opportunities for veterans in the construction industry. The program's disability initiative alone can help workers track down services, benefits and funds owed to them as veterans - in some cases, for as much as tens of thousands of dollars in back benefits. iPods for Wounded Veterans Update

Teamsters Local 769 Human Rights Commission On Tuesday, February  11, 2014, Wayne Fox, co-chair from  iPods for Wounded Veterans organization, was a guest speaker at the I.B.T. Brewery and Soft Drink Workers Conference 2014 Annual Meeting in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Wayne Fox thanked Teamsters Local 769 for the continued support for our veterans and to the iPods for Wounded Veterans program.
