Teamster Sons and Daughters Eligible to Apply The James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund is now accepting applications for scholarship  awards.  The deadline for receipt of completed materials is March 31, 2016. Materials have been sent to every local union in the US and Canada, but if you would like to download the materials, please see the link below. Scholarship applicants compete in one of the five geographic regions where the Teamster Member Relation’s Teamsters Union affiliate is located. One category of awards totals $10,000 each. Orlando UAL Mechanics Protest Contract Offer

February 19, 2016, hundreds of United Airlines mechanics protested the airline’s contract offer by picketing outside key maintenance bases at the San Francisco, Houston and Orlando airports. The above video is of members of Teamsters Local 769 at Orlando International Airport. The mechanics held picket signs that read, “Millions for UAL Execs—Peanuts for Passengers and Mechanics.” Line mechanics and technicians at other United facilities across the United States also participated by wearing “Tell UAL: NO” stickers at their workplaces. TEAMSTERS OFFER $10,000 REWARD

The Teamsters Union is offering a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the whereabouts of Sierra Shields. Shields, a flight attendant with Shuttle America for Delta and United Airlines flights, and a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, has been missing since Jan. 14, 2016. She was last seen leaving New York's LaGuardia Airport on foot that morning. The Queens resident is 5'6" or 5'7", weighing approximately 160 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. Monroe County Food Drive

The Teamsters annual food drive in Monroe County was once again a great success. The success comes at the generosity of many members contributing non-perishable products. While all the Teamsters who participate in this success are significant, in this particular picture are three of the driving forces, Becky Roberts from the Sheriffs office, Charlie Pons from the city of Key West and Zach McCart from UPS. Thanks to them and to all of the Teamsters who contributed their time and efforts to again make this years food drive a positive Teamster influence on our community.
