Chuck Thome

Chuck was born in Wayne Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. His family moved to south Florida in 1975, settling in Sunrise Florida, where Chuck grew up enjoying sports, playing football and wrestling. He graduated from Piper High School in 1981. Chuck currently lives in Palm Beach County with his wife Rebeccah. They are proud parents of three college graduates. All three of their children have chosen professions that help other people, Rachel the doctor, Charlene is a social worker and Trace has taken up medical research. Chuck and Becky are empty nesters enjoying life and waiting on grandchildren.

Chuck’s career began in 1982, while attending Broward Community College he began working as a part-time employee at UPS. That part-time job became a 35-year career. During his time at UPS Chuck worked in two different facilities, Ft. Lauderdale and Deerfield. While at UPS Chuck performed work in almost every classification. He worked as a pre-loader, reloader, sorter, unloader, loader, car washer, shifter, small sorter, package car driver, and feeder driver. In June of 1997, Chuck became a Union steward, just in time to serve as a strike captain for the 16-day strike at UPS. In 2003, Chuck took a leave of absence from UPS and worked as a Business Agent for Teamsters Local 390 representing Carhaul and Freight. After several months at Local 390, Chuck returned to UPS until he retired in 2017. This is when he began his current position as Business Representative at Teamsters Local 769. Chuck now proudly represents employees in various industries which includes bus drivers, mechanics, dispatchers, cooks, servers, maintenance workers, the blue and white-collar employees at Martin County, employees in the Dairy, Foodservice, and Beverage Industries.
