Everyone is a winner at this years Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament.
It was a win for everyone involved at the 2013 Teamsters Local 769 Golf Tournament which was held this past weekend, on October 5th, 2013. The weather was beautiful and the scores turned in by the teams proved that it was a great day for golf. The Palm-Aire Country Club served as hosts again for this years event and their Oaks course was truly enjoyable to play. This is a rare type of occasion where management an bargaining unit members get to play together to support a common cause. That cause was the Local 769 Scholarship Fund which benefits children of Teamster members.
On this day the Teamsters would again prevail as Local 769 members from UPS in West Palm Beach repeated as first flight tournament winners with a score of 59. Tom Fresch, Bob Grecol, Dean Barett, and Jose Cabus bested everyone on the Oaks course, which was no small feat considering the turnout. Over 112 participants forming 31 foursomes competed in the event and a good time was had by all.  The second flight first place team, with a score of 66, was Ken Michaud, Matt Jackson, Cory Harold, and Pat Collins.
Other winners were Pete Sudler for the longest drive from the men and  Michele Emm had the women’s longest drive. Closest to the pin was Al Hess and the putting contest was won by John Weir. (For a full list of winners, see below.)
Of course the real winner was the Scholarship Fund and for that we would like to thank all of the generous sponsors of the event.
