Eddy Valero

Recording Secretary

Eduardo was born in Colon Matanza, Cuba in 1974. In 1980 he moved with his family to Costa Rica. In 1991, Eddy came to the United States and settled in Miami Florida. He attended Hialeah High School and later attended FIU where he studied Labor Relations. In 1996, Eddy became a second-generation Teamster, following in his father’s footsteps; he has been an active member for over 23 years.

In 1996, Eddy began working for Challenge Air Cargo, working in the warehouse import and export department. Eddy, being a hard worker, quickly advanced to an office position. In 2000, Challenge Air Cargo was purchased by UPS. Eddy served as a shop steward and then became an organizer and business agent with Local 390. In 2005, with the merger of Local 390 and Local 769, he continued as a business agent, representing members in grievances, negotiations, organizing, and arbitrations.

Eddy enjoys representing our Teamster brothers and sisters. His character is to help other people, enjoy life, and sees himself as an advisor. Eddy has helped improve the working conditions of employees and has been successful in organizing several companies. At this moment, he represents drivers, couriers, parcel & warehouse workers, janitors, office, clerical staff, and car rental employees.

On March 1, 2024, Eddy was appointed to serve the members on the Local 769 Executive Board as Recording Secretary.

Brother Valero believes that to accomplish your goals you must fight for what you want. Nothing in life comes easy, and building a dream takes teamwork, which is what the Teamsters stand for.
