Teamsters Local 769 would like to ask all of our members and their families to be prepared for Hurricane Dorian. Make a plan for your families and be sure to have the necessary supplies on hand if you will be staying through the storm. Track the progress of the storm and listen to advisories from your local authorities. If you are in an evacuation or flood zone, follow designated evacuation routes and get to a safe place. Local 769 Responds to Hurricane Michael

Following Hurricane Michael, Teamsters Answer the Call for Action Following the devastation of Hurricane Michael, Teamsters formed a disaster relief labor coalition with the Florida AFL-CIO to provide assistance to residents of the Florida Panhandle. IBT Disaster Relief has taking the leading role in setting up the logistics for relief supply distribution in the region. The labor coalition set up distribution points at local schools and other locations, and trucks began driving into the affected communities today to locate residents and get them essential items that they need to get through the aftermath of the storm. Relief for Puerto Rico

Teamsters Local 769 has again partnered with the Teamsters Hispanic Caucus and the residents of Pembroke Pines to provide aid and support to those affected by Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. This is the second such event we have helped to put together after a successful first effort. 70,000 Pounds More Relief on its Way to Puerto Rico

Over the weekend, Teamsters Local 769 and Teamsters Hispanic Caucus Florida Chapter, along with local Union members and residents of Pembroke Pines, worked together to collect hurricane relief supplies for Teamsters Local Union No. 901 and the community in Puerto Rico. A "Great Big Thank You" to all who donated, helped to sort items, labeled items and helped to load the donated items into the shipping container.
