Business Agent

Ignacio Bolivar was born in Hialeah, Florida, in 1969, the son of Cuban immigrants Ignacio and Ada. His parents arrived in Miami in 1965 and 1962, where they later met and married in 1968. Ignacio graduated from Monsignor Edward Pace High School in 1987 and went on to attend Miami Dade College.
A proud 37-year Teamster, Ignacio dedicated over 33 years of his career to UPS, where he worked in a variety of roles including loader, sorter, irregulars driver, air driver, and ultimately as a package car driver at UPS Hialeah. His leadership qualities soon became evident—he served as a Shop Steward for more than 25 years and later as grievance coordinator at UPS Doral for over 2 years. In 2021, Ignacio was appointed as a Business Agent for Teamsters Local 769, where he continues his commitment as a Business Representative, organizing workers, negotiating contracts, and representing members with passion and dedication.
Ignacio is also a devoted father to his 25-year-old twins. His son Austin is a Pediatric ICU Nurse at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, while his daughter Carydad works as an Athletic Trainer at Mount St. Mary’s University in Maryland. Away from union work, Ignacio is an enthusiastic sports fan with a deep knowledge of just about every sport. He also enjoys traveling and discovering new restaurants.
Today, Ignacio proudly represents his Teamster brothers and sisters at multiple UPS facilities across Miami. His responsibilities also extend to other white paper contract companies such as Hertz Rent a Car in Miami, Crystal Springs Water in both Miami and Fort Lauderdale, and IFS, a cleaning company serving many South Florida UPS locations. In addition, he serves as a delegate for the AFL-CIO, regularly attending their monthly meetings.
Known for his heart of gold and unwavering dedication, Ignacio Bolivar continues to fight tirelessly for the rights and dignity of the workers he represents.
