Teamsters Local 769, along with help from the South Florida AFL-CIO, SEIU, South Florida Interfaith Worker Justice, and Catalyst Miami, have fought to pass the Living Wage Healthcare Amendment in Miami-Dade County.
On April 5, 2016 Miami-Dade County Commissioners voted 12 to 1 in favor of passing the amendment which will help thousands of working families access affordable healthcare.
This victory marks an important step for working families in South Florida and gets us one step closer to raising the minimum wage. Many thanks to: Commissioner Daniella Levine Cava, commissioner Xavier Suarez, Terry Murphy from commissioner Monestime’s office, Camilo Mejia with Catalyst Miami, LiLi Bach, Jackie de Carvalho and Subhash Kateel with SEIU.
