FreshPoint Drivers Say Yes to Teamster Representation

The voting began Thursday night at 11pm and on Friday morning August 26th, when the votes were counted, Teamsters Local 769 had 101 new brothers and sisters. FreshPoint is North America’s largest exclusively owned produce distributor and a division of Sysco Corporation. First Transit Para-transit Drivers WIN!

  Workers at First Transit in Broward County  voted by an overwhelming 82.5% for Teamster representation on Friday April 8th, 2016. The bargaining unit, which consist of nearly 120 para-transit drivers, is contracted by Broward County to provide services to primarily elderly and special needs citizens who need transportation to medical appointments, shopping and other essential locations. Fight for 15 Day of Action

On Tuesday November 10th, 2015, during a national day of action. Hundreds of demonstrations were coordinated around the country and Teamsters Local 769, along with other organizations such as the AFL/CIO, AFSME, SEIU, UNITED HERE and other Unions, gathered at a rally in downtown Miami in support of a "$15" minimum wage. This past November, 76 bus drivers at Keolis Transit America Inc. in Fort Lauderdale, Florida voted unanimously to become members of Teamsters Local 769. On Friday September 18, 2015 our new Teamsters brothers and sisters ratified their first contract. Among the list of improvements in their new collective bargaining agreement are improved seniority rights,  a new grievance and arbitration procedure, a guarantee of hours of work, just cause language relating to discipline, wage increase, and many more. Congratulation to our newest brothers and sisters! Today, May 6, 2015,  the Dispatchers and Mechanics of Keolis Transit America Inc. in Fort Lauderdale, Florida unanimous voted "YES" to join our Brothers and Sisters at Teamsters Local 769. 1st AmeriGas CSR Contract

On March 10, 2015, the Customer Service Representatives at AmeriGas in Broward voted unanimously to ratify their very first contract. Back in November of 2014, the CSR's had voted for Teamster representation at the Broward County facility. The main reasons were that they were looking to be treated with dignity and respect in the workplace and they were seeking the addition of the grievance procedure to ensure job security.
