I.R.C.S.O. Lieutenants Ratify First Contract!

The Lieutenants at the Indian River County Sheriff's Office ratified their first ever collective bargaining agreement which guarantees a 3% wage increase for the first year of the contract. The Lieutenants at the Sheriff's Office only recently voted to join the Teamsters and according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, overall crime in the county dropped 4.3% in 2012 from the year before so the pay increase is well deserved. 3 Year Deal for IRC Blue Collar

The Indian River County Blue Collar Unit, which encompasses parks department, utilities, life guards, building maintenance, road and bridge employees and more, ratified a new 3 year contract on October 1st, 2013. The new contract guarantees an 8% wage increase over 3 years with a reopen for cost of living increases for the 2nd and 3rd year of the agreement. TEAMSTERS APPROVE NATIONAL UPS CONTRACT

UPS Freight Contract Rejected In Separate Referendum June 26, 2013 The Teamsters Union announced today that a majority of UPS Teamsters have voted to approve a new five-year national contract that contains significant wage increases and other improvements. The vote on the contract, the largest collective bargaining agreement in North America, was 34,307 to 30,202The union also announced that UPS Freight Teamsters have rejected a proposed five-year national agreement with UPS Freight by a vote of 1,897 to 4,244. UPS UPDATE – Ratification

Members of Local 769 voted overwhelmingly for the ratification of the National Master Agreement and Southern Supplement (UPS Brown). The Freight Agreement and Air Cargo Agreement were not ratified. Monroe County Corrections Officers Ratify New Contract

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office corrections officers have ratified a new contract which includes a wage increase of 3% and vacation time will now be considered time worked. Monroe County corrections officers serve throughout the Florida Keys. The ratification vote was a landslide with a count of 73 "yes" votes to 3 "no". Business agent John Sherman also reported that accomplishments such as this are a direct result of members who stay active in their community as well as the Union.
