AmeriJet Update 9-4-15

unnamedTeamsters Local No. 769 – Amerijet Crew Update

Emails:       In regards to the multiple emails that you have recently received from the Company, the Union does not object to such communication.  However, the Union did strongly object to content and direction of email #2 dated Wednesday, September 02, 2015 3:43 PM.  Below is a PDF of a letter from International Brotherhood of Teamsters Airline Division (dated September 3, 2015). Teamsters Local 769 would like nothing better but to place a tentative agreement in front of you to VOTE, however that tentative agreement must contain our reasonable request of industry standard language to provide you job protection and security.  We encourage you to contact your Company and ask them “why are you proposing such substandard language to us?”.  Since the parties have commenced negotiations, hundreds of collective bargaining agreements have been negotiated by the parties and ratified by the membership.  There is a process and that process can be successfully executed if both parties participate with the attitude and willingness to obtain an agreement between the parties.  Your Union has that attitude and willingness to obtain such an agreement.  In particular, the email you received today, September 4, 2015 at 11:36AM was a direct result from the letter that the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Airline Division issued in the afternoon of September 4, 2015.

Meetings:  Over the past few weekends we have held multiple meetings in multiple Counties.  During the meetings we were  able to discuss multiple items and to provide you with a negotiation update along with a status update of key items, not to mention a great labor education.  We would like to thank all of the crew that had the opportunity to attend the meetings.  We will continue to schedule and hold future face to face meetings. Currently your bargaining committee and Teamsters Local 769 Business Agent David Renshaw are in the process of scheduling up and coming conference calls and working on additional forms to communicate with you as well. We are proud to say that multiple folks have signed up for our open slots on the committees, details will follow.

Let us not forget the true meaning of this  “Holiday Weekend

Labor Day:          The first Monday in September is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.
