Employees Seek Fair Wages, and better working conditions.
Drivers at Keolis Transit America Inc. in Fort Lauderdale, Florida voted to become Teamsters on Thursday, November 6, 2014. The election was held by the National Labor Board and there are 76 Bus Drivers in the bargaining unit. Of the employees that participated in the election, 62 strong, the vote was unanimous for Teamsters representation.
It is with great pride that we welcome the newest members to our local. “When the workers voted yes for their union, they were voting Yes for a better life not only for themselves, but also for families.”,said Eddy Valero, Business Representative of Local 769 in Miami. “The workers turned to us for help and we look forward to providing them with the best representation possible to improve their working conditions and attain the respect they deserve.”
The workers remained strong and united throughout the process of their campaign to become Teamsters.
