A short time ago, at our most recent General Membership Meeting, Business Agent David Renshaw introduced the membership of Local 769 to the Dear Soldier Campaign. Through this letter writing campaign, wounded veterans at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and the Fort Belvior Community Hospital in Virginia receive thank you letters from students of Teamster members as well as from their friends and neighbors.

For the full details on how to get involved with the campaign as well as for letterhead that you can print out for your child, visit our Dear Soldier Campaign webpage here.

David has been selected to represent Local 769 in delivering some of the letters collected  this December 6th and 7th, 2013. He will be visiting Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and other veteran’s hospitals and will need to have all letters that he is to hand deliver by November 30th, 2013. David said, “It is will be with great pleasure that I get to deliver these letters to our soldiers.”

Let’s really get behind this project and give David a stack of letters to deliver to our brave men and women who have sacrificed so much for our freedom.

On this Veteran’s Day, Teamsters Local 769 salutes all of our brave service men and women and asks everyone else to help show them the gratitude and appreciation they so truly deserve.
